Gabriel Diniz is the Cinematographer on the film A Singele Woman. His biography here is in his own words: "I was Born in Albuquerque, NM into a very … family.  My father is a civil engineer, while my mother is an art educator.  I feel that this combination of mechanical understand and artistic creativity gave me a perfect foundation for becoming a cinematographer.  I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado College in English and Film Theory, then pursued cinematography at The Los Angles Film School.

I really enjoyed making “A Single Woman.”  First and foremost, this was because Kamala wanted to be very creative in the telling of the story.  We could really create a look based on the mood and not be limited by reality.  A great example of this would be our use of a completely black area with overhead spotlights for the darker moments of Jeannette Rankin’s life.

Secondly, it was fantastic to be a part of a project that has such an important message.  I knew very little about Jeannette Rankin before this project, but I was very inspired by her.  I often feel that people are becoming increasingly apathetic, and it was great to see her always, steadfastly promoting peace.  I think that there are very few figures throughout all of history that can claim to be as uncompromising as she is.  Shooting this film was definitely one of the proudest moments of my career."
